The results at HMA.

Kay Das
The Plumeria Journey

Coming second to the mightily talented Gerald is an honour on its own. I would like to say a big "thank you" to all who voted for me and to those that wished me well.

There is, however, another winner.....this year the turnout of voters on the Steel Guitar category was more than twice the average of the other categories. In previous years, only 1 in about 1500 voters even cared to vote in the Steel Guitar category.

So, that other winner is....the Steel Guitar!

Smile

Thank you Kay, my friend.

Whew... close race. I never received the numbers from the awards people. This is the first I've seen them.

Let's work on a steel duet for Joliet 2010.

Congratulations to both of you!!!
That's a win for Hawaiian Steel all around.
You guys do so much to promote Hawaiian music, I think this should make the National News.
And thank both of you for letting everyone know about this event, as, in browsing through the other categories, I came across several other wonderful Hawaiian musicians and vocalists I had never heard of before.
Can someone please post a link so we can see what happened in the other categories?
Thank you.
