Hi Pat.
Hope you remember me from Vegas.
Didn't you have at one time a SD 12???
I remember looking at 12 strings somewhere, and being nervous.Too many for an ol fart.
Is Buzz living in Vegas again??
At least there you don't have to carry a bucket around.
This time of year Vegas has a lot of music with
the rodeo in town.
Are you and Buzz playing any where.?

Bill....
I do remember your hospitality and patience when I sat behind your LeGrand.
I don't have the 12 stingers any more. My current horn is Buzz's first Mullen, an all wood pre-RP that dates to 1983. What an instrument!
Take care and have a good holiday season. _________________ Patrick Goodbla

I was beginning to wonder if anyone had gone there. You have restored my faith in human curiosity.
My favorite part is his choreography on "We Wish You A Merry Christmas". It is so Buzz! _________________ Patrick Goodbla

I saw Buzz at the Broken Spoke back in April this year in the Bo Porter Band. He sure is a character.
Re the traffic in Austin - it is the most challenging place that I have ever been to in the USA for driving in. You didn't make it to Houston, I take it.
The country is so large and yet we can still be so immobilized.
Anyone care to offer insight into Buzz's relocation? Poor pay in Central Texas? Unfavourable pickers-to-jobs ratio? Missed the action on the craps tables? What happens in Austin stays in Austin? |

He was playing with Bobby Kingston at Larry's Hideaway and some gig in Laughlin. Bobby sent me an email telling me the dates, but I must have deleted it. If I remember Buzz was going to play with them tomorrow night at Larry's. You might want to check with Bobby Kingston for the nights that he has Buzz playing. All his contact info is at http://www.bobkingston.com/ _________________ http://www.oldbluesound.com/about.htm

Dang. Well, Austin’s loss is Vegas’ gain. I sure was hoping to get to do some more shows with Buzz. He and I had fun playing with Bo Porter and we were going to do some more. What a fantastic player. Pat, please tell him hello from me. |

Yes, Buzz is a hoot, totally. We sat elbow to elbow in my Wed. nite swing band gig (Buzz on guitar, me on steel) and not only the music but the off-mic jokes made it an even more-fun gig than anyone should experience.
Of course, now I have Redd, so it's just as much fun. Redd and Buzz played together on Sunday nights and that was reminiscent of the blowouts Redd used to have with Jim Murphy, whom I also miss very much. _________________ My rig: Infinity and Telonics.
Son, we live in a world with walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with steel guitars. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg? |
