Well, guys; it looks like we will have to pay and extra 50 dollars on our dues the year for assessement?????????????
There wasn't enough no votes to get rid of it last night at the meeting. It to bale the union out of the trouble that they got into. There was close to 200 there but not enough voted no. |

I was there. And all I can say is, I have more respect now for Weldon Myrick and Charlie Louvern than I ever did.
From the GAG order the union put on discussing the matter that's all I think I can say. |

Yes Mike, and I think we need more guys like Weldon and Charlie to stand up and let the head guys know how they fell, things would probably be musch better off down there. The rest of the musicians need to attend every meeting they have and give they a big NO on everything that's not in favor of the musicians. They are supposed to stand up for musicians and their jobs?????? I don' think they have been doing musch of that lately. A neighbor of my heard something about a big shake up at the Opry, have you heard anything about that? I missed all the news yeaterday. |

I remember once at one of the Local Union meetings I attended in Norwalk Ct, the President actually yelled out to a member who was asking a question which was challenging the leaderships position , he said " If you don't shut up I'm gonna come out there and kick your ass " ! Well me and my friends , who didn't really participate all that much just though it was the typical Italian rule of the day ! Mob style I guess..maybe things haven't changed all that much..They ran the meetings like it was a Godfather thing....
More fee's or higher fee's , that usually solves everything..
just like the gasoline shortage....

Who benifits from this order?
Is there a legit reason for it? |

Joey,
The "reason" is Article II, Section 8 of the BYLAWS...we are "bound" by that not to make public the Business of the Union.
Otherwise, I'm sure this thread would have been full before the sun came up this morning. |

"Recently I was directed to your posting on an Internet forum by yourself putting down the local.Union. In checking your records I find you were a longtime member in good standing until you resigned..If the Union was so bad why did you contribute for so many years?. I find your remarks contemptable on the border of libel. And request a public apology on the same forum to avoid and repercussions..Sam."

I wrote him back,& told him that my statements stand,as posted. THIS is what I got back:
