We need an archive of makers and models. Let's imagine you wanted to know what models Gibson, for instance, had put out. You could just click on Gibson and get a complete list of all models and photographs of them.
We have enough expertise and knowledge within the Forum to put together such a database. All we need is someone to host and organize it. |

Yes, there are several databases for individual manufacturers, but no overal database.
This is one of the main problems with the internet. There's a lot of information available but it's not organized. I believe that the next useful stage in the internet will be organization. In 50 years time everyone will wonder how we did without it. |

Alan,
you can build yourself a free site at Wordpress.com and augment it for instance (5 gigs for free) with Picassa (an extra 5 gigs).
Wordpress allows you to visualize pix from external sites, you could use it as an aggregator.
