To my fellow steelers,
Happy New Year!!!!
To celebrate this new year, I wrote a little melody that celebrates joy, in the African expression of the same. It is formed in sort of the african "soukous" guitar stylings in which I tried to adapt a bit of the rhythms they play. Enjoy! And may all of you have glorious year of 2010! Be Blessed!

Wow! It IS joyous. I like the bridge around 3:05. Do you play an open tuning, Ronnie? Thanks for the post.

Hi Steve (Morley)
I`m sorry I could not repond to your encouraging comment, and your inquiry, it is a little tough to keep up my correspondence at this time of the year. Oh Well Smile But I thank you for your patience.
Yes, I do play a combination of open, and cross string picking. Actually, I do whatever it takes to get the job done. After 57 years, I sorta just hope I get lucky enough, to not make a fool of myself playing anything! Laughing I tune my steel to "E" natural from 1st. string .011 to the bass .044 as a tuning pattern, but I raise the harmonic chord pattern up to the key of "F". That way the strings seem to sustain much longer.
Thanks for asking.
Be blessed!
Bishop Hall (Ron) Smile

It is always a joy to hear from you!
Thanks so much, for your encouragement as always! I could`nt respond as fast as I would have wanted to, as I have said, things get a little busy for me at this time of the year.
I trust that God has blessed you, and yours richly during the holidays, and I too am praying for great prosperity for you in this year, as it unfolds before you!
Be blessed, my dear friend,
