800x480 touchscreen, 250 GB disc, reasonable price. What's not to like?

$199 at Amazon.com

Anyone tried one of these?

I own an old Archos mp3 player-recorder, Jukebox 20. This puppy has done a wonderful job recording live music shows with its built in mic. I still use her today, trouble free. I suspect their newer units are even better.

I couldn't resist. I pulled the $199 lever at Amazon. Cool

I think my friend had that model. He liked it but I think it was stolen. So watch out for that I guess Smile

They're all good if you don't have a specific need for iTunes. Archos especially makes nice ones.

If you're looking for gadgets, maybe save up for some of the new e-book readers they had at CES (assuming they actually come out). I like my Kindle. They're good if you have a lot of technical documentation in PDF form. You can also use Instapaper to put long web pages on it.
