I believe that today, December 30, is Joaquin Murphey's birthday. He'd be 78 years old if he were still with us physically.

Of course, he's still with us spiritually and musicially.

If you have some of his music, or can play it on steel guitar, do it today.

Maybe I can upload something rare for y'all... I'll check.

Thanks for the reminder, Herb. Joaquin was my all-time favorite and a friend as well. I miss him.

Happy Birthday Jauqin, wherever you are.

I remember when he came to my house in Phoenix around 1972.

He played my old homebuilt steel with a Multi-Kord tuning changer, 13 strings.E6. I had owned it about 10 years, played pop and some jazz on it.

BUT I NEVER heard the great music that he made come out of that guitar, or since.......al
