I have from time to time introduced new players to this forum, on a previous occasion Tam Le Trung from Belgium, a very steel fine guitarist and a dear friend.
This is a letter I received a few months back from Jeff Goormans, also known as Mai Aloma, also from Belgium, that kinda got me all watery at the kneecaps. I have since been in correspondence with this very kind artiste, and today got his CD and his permission to share his music on the forum. I think you may agree that this gentlemen plays steel guitar with his heart. His brother, Eddy accompanies him.
I will let his music do the talking. "Teatime" is his own composition. You can download from this site by hitting the "download" button at the bottom of the website page that will come up..

Its a small steel guitar world!
Enjoy!

Great tone and technique. Souunded like he was using the A6th tuning. At the very end he he lifted his fingers behind the bar, strumming behind the bar to get the12th fret echo effect. I used to do this on occasion but had never seen anyone else on the Forum clips do it. |
