I'm glad to announce that Glenn Rieuf of the John Anderson Band and David Woods with the Doug Stone Band have recently joined the "1000 Club" among steel guitarists. Both have been Peavey endorsers for many years now. Check the amp out here;'http://www.peavey.com/products/amps_mi/guitaramps/nashville1000.cfm

Hi Skip, The only diference in my setting from N-400 LTD was the Shift. On the 400 the shift setting is 8. On the 1000 the setting is 5. . I have a Session 400, a Session 500, a Nashville 400, a Session 400 LTD, and a Nashville 1000. I have been using Peacey amps since they came on the market, and none of these amps has ever failed to perform to the utmost. They can "take a licking and keep on ticking'. Best regards, Jody.

I think Skip Mertz made his post for me because he knows how very frustrated I am getting with my 1000, and I thank you Skip. I am looking for that "throaty" sound. I use the 8th string a lot in my licks and while I want that bass sound I also want it to sound sharp and distinct. Seems the only way I can really get it is to set the "shift" around 300 but the pre gain is set up high. Problem with that is that you get the noise from the delay pedal the higher up you make the pre-gain. I will try Cody's settings and see what happens. Everyone says how good my steel sounds.HMMMM why can't I hear it that way????Could just be that I ain't good enough to make the hands do what pleases my ears yet. I'll be the first to admit that.
Hey Mike...e-mail me or call me if ya got a suggestion. Also have a Peavey Classic that sounded really great till it took a crap on me. Peavey dealer here is having a tough time finding the problem.

Common settings to start with:

bass 1:00
mid knob all the way to the left
boost 800
treble and pres. 1:00

This is what Lloyd Green stated at St Louis.

The amps are very strong in the mids, I wish they would tone them back just a tad.

But they are great reliable amps, loud and clean.I use one as well.

During Lloyd Green's "mini-seminar" in the Peavey room at St. Louis this year, he gave us the settings he was using at that time. So I took a close-up picture of the amp with those settings. I have been using them and I am quite happy with the settings. They are:

Low +9
Mid -10
Shift 800
High +2 1/2
Presence +3
Rev 2
He had the gain set at about 4

He also indicated he started with the mid all the way counterclockwise and gradually brought it back clockwise until it started to "kick-in"

I have been very happy with the 1000 - I use it with a Session 400 Limited but I run the 1000 dry with the reverb shown above.

California super player, David Wright has a very nice 1000 he would sell as he uses the 2000, PX setup and wants another 2000 because he uses the built-in effects of the 2000.

Congrats Mike on a fine product and exceptional service. You guys took great care of me when I had a problem with my 1000. Right now Im playing through a Peavey Classic 50/212 and I love it. Sounds great with lap steel and my Les Paul just like ol Bobbe Seymore said it would. Only problem I have with mine is that it WAS NOT free. Keep up the good work Peavey!

BTW Mike, I havn't forgot about the pictures I promised you about a year ago. My camera got stolen at a nameless convention, but I'll see what I can do for ya.
Thanks for all the great and wonderful years that Peavey has helped to make for me.

Hello Michael,
How did you get the Peavey Nashville 1000 to play on 220 Volts here in Europe???
Peavey stopped to make Steel Guitar Amps for 220 Volt 5 years ago.
Kind Regards
Henning

I've got my Peavey Nashville 1000 for Christmas 2 years ago. I love it!
It has all the bite & sweetness I need, especially for the band I play in. We do alot of Country & Southern Rock. I've found the N-1000 works well with any of my 4 Emmons Guitars or even my Sho-bud. I run it with a old Peavey Pro-Fex I. I highly recommend the N-1000 to anyone in the market for a new Steel Guitar Amp.

Nick

Thank you for the support and comments. Be on the lookout for the John Anderson Band with Glenn, and David Woods with Doug Stone. Both are great players and good people.

I have used my 1000 only a couple of times by itself and it was great. When I use it on the job I use a Tubefex and plug it in the back, bypassing the front controls. (Equal to a 2000) It's the best sound I've ever had from a single amp. I also have a rack system with a ProFex II and a DPC750, and the only reason it sounds better is the effect of two speakers and stereo. Some day I would like to get a PX300 and use it with the 1000, execpt I'm getting too old to carry all that weight around. I would consider trading the rack system for a 2000, then I could use them together or separate which ever the job called for. That would work wouldn't it Mike? Go into the back of the 1000 and it would be the same as a PX300, right?

I'd like your input on using an A6 tuning and your settings. I guess I'm also looking for that "right" sound. You can hear mine on bandcstrum@aol.com Thanks, Bob

I like my Nashville 400 also. It,s paid for. Also I only have a 12X14 room to put a Jap Martin, Mex Tele, 59 Fender Jag and a Emmons SD10. Almost forgot my Twin Reverb.

Plus my computer and all the other junk that comes along with the other junk.

And I set my Nashville 400 over in the south west corner.

Bob.
