Hi all,

I've read some very positive comments on the EV 15L for vintage steel sound. I've been looking for a new 15 for my 135 watt Twin and have a chance to pick one of these speakers up. Any thoughts before I pull the trigger?

Thanks,

Dan

Get down to the store and camp out at the door step if you have to, if it is in great shape you will love it. For me this speaker and the 1501-DT are the cats meow.

Dan,
It's one of my favorite 15's .... It will handle the power, and it smoothes things out nicely ....Not as brite as a JBL and put's out a nice bass .... As with any of the older 15's , it will carry some weight with it, but also carries a nice tone for your trouble .... ....Jim

Tommy Butler played my new rendition of the Tweed era Twin with a 15" SICA Premium light Neo speaker last night. Rated at 250 watts and weighing on 6.85 pounds. I know what I would put in that amp! You can bet I will be selling these in all my new pedal steel amps that will be built as well as selling them on my web site ASAP!

Ken,
I have not tried very many of the newer Neo speakers .... You have had plenty of amps and speakers come thru your door ....Can you please give us some kind of comparison as to how this speaker sounds ? ...Is it more like a 1501-4 ? ....A JBL ? ....A Jensen ? .....An EV .....Thanks for your time ....Looking forward to hearing more about the Twin ....Thanks, Jim

All I can say is it sounds great. How it sounds is pretty subjective. I know when I find something that just does it for me.

The speaker has a smooth response, tight low end. The clarity is superb. Seems like a cross between a JBL and an EV, somewhere in between the two.

Tommy could count the beats on a string out of tune last night with the amp and speaker combo. He said he was hearing things he could not hear before with other amps and speakers.

When I built the new amp I tried the new Jensen Neo and it was OK. I then tried the amp with my 115E cab and a 1501-4SB speaker. I knew then the Jensen was not the speaker for this amp!

When I put in the new SICA 15" Neo I knew I had a winner.

Well,

This was on Craigslist here. I immediately sent an e-mail saying I'd like to buy it. Next thing I knew the post had been flagged (it was mis-listed under musicians, not musical instruments for sale), and I never got a reply.

Dang!
