There's a You Tube clip from the Lawrence Welk show where Buddy Merrill plays "South" on his quad stringmaster.
Using all four necks! With bar shivers, Speedy-esque Boowahs and bass riffs!! Highly impressive!!!

Hmm... I wonder what his tunings are. E13 - C6 - A6 and chromatic on bass neck?

wow. I really liked this. s young with such fantastic technique. that top neck looked like it was strung as a bass.

Yah, I think Lawrence told him to Very Happy . I'm sure L.W. would have wanted the brass, reeds to smile also if he could have figured a way to do it. As JB used to say about his somewhat grumpy face while playing..."I'm not selling toothpaste!" (or simi)
