That is one fine looking guitar!!! Looks like the headstock is custom made with what looks like tortoise shell veneer surface as well as the usual C.F. Martin inlay in mother-of-pearl. Beautiful!!! I bet it sounds like a million bucks. Good luck on it, I hope it goes to a good home where it will be appreciated!

Here's something worth wondering about: Is the top bracing scalloped or straight? Martin didn't start scalloping production D-45s, D-41s & similar again (and yes, HD models from the get-go, 1976-on) until 1986. _________________ "Gopher, Everett?" |

This is on a gold plate on the end block:
C.F. Martin & Co.
Custom Dreadnought
Serial # 425058
For Ray Hennig's
Heart Of Texas Music
According to the Martin website this serial # is a 1979 model. |
