| Yep I have to admit danny is one of the best when it comes to cajun picking on the steel. I have sat behind him on many occasins when I was living down there playing drums with my dad's band. Geno Thibodeaux and the Lake Charles Ramblers. The clip sure brought back great memories. I could tell that the clip was filmed at the VFW Post 2170 on Country Club Rd. Thanks |

I was at a big dance hall in Lake Charles in '74. I wish I could remember it. I know they had some great music. After that it's all a blurr!

| Looks like hes got the Cajun "G" tuning. High G on top. Fits right in with that "C" accordion. If the accordion player plays a "D" accordion the steel player will likely put a capo under the 2nd fret. Love that style!! Dont need pedals either. |

Sometime in 1997 or 98 I was down in New Orleans on a business trip and stopped in one night at the Cagun Cabin on Bourbon St. "Mitch Cormier and the Can't Hardly Playboys" were putting out a fantastic sound to a packed house. I didn't have any equipment with me, but the band asked me to come up and sing a couple of songs with them. They didn't have a steel player with them at that time. Chad Cormier was the fiddler, Mitch played the accordion, Norm Cormier played bass, and there was a drummer and a guitar player who I believe was named Steve.
I wound up doing 2 sets with them and they provided excellent back-up, harmony, and fills. It sure made my night a memorable one.
When I had to leave, Mitch gave me an over-the-shoulder metal washboard that is played with either spoons or metal finger thimbles. I still have it and think of those guys often.
Does anyone know if Danny Cormier is part of this same band?

| Several years ago, Tim Cushenberry put on about 3 Cajun Steel Guitar Shows in Louisiana. The shows were first class. Featured all the great Cajun steel players including Jr. Martin, Murnel Babeneaoux, Richard Comeaux and many other fine Cajun players. Also on the show were steel players from Nashville and every where. I was priviledged to be invited to all of Tim's shows and the shows were the among the best out there. I really enjoyed being there. Tim also built cases, racks, and seats at the time. I still have my EMCI in a CushCase and still have my 6 space rack. Would love to go to another Cajun Steel Show.
