Beginners Notes #92-- How Major Scale Tones lay on the E9th fret board(No Pedals)

E9th study in the key of “A” of how the Major Scale Tones lay on the fret board. Using the Standard
E9th tuning. Since the fret board repeats it self above the 12 fret, it is not shown.

We can immediately see that there are more Scale notes then Non-scale notes. So, you are only
a half tone away from any Scale note. Hence “Single Note” work, picking the or a correct note,
or moving into a correct note, should be easy. At some frets there are almost no incorrect notes,
depending on the musical idea, ie. The Nut, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 7th, 10th and 12th frets.

Here is the fret board laid out with no pedals or levers engaged. If you get familiar with this, musical patterns
and ideas literally jump out at you. Think Do=1, Re=2, Mi=3, Fa=4 So=5, La=6, Ti=7, Do=8(1)

One that quickly got my attention was 1, 2, 3 at the 7th fret on strings 9, 8, 7. Then 4, 5, 6 at the 10th fret
on strings 8, 7, 6. Then 5, 6, 7 at the 12th fret on strings 8, 7, 6, then press the “B” pedal.

Another thing is how many times note sequences repeat them selves. Look at 1 and 2, then find some others.
And chord formulas! Take 1,3,5... They're all(most) there, somewhere, aren't they?
