Al.
Which Rick are you trying to restore, or do you just want a hood ornament? |

Richard -- I recently got a B10 with no headplate. I mean, it's not necessary...but, gee, it's like having Levi's with no red label! _________________ Al

The one on ebay went the next notch above my high (embarrassing) bid of $127, so it looks like I'd pay $127 for one...in case you thought I'd only pay $30. By the way, the guy who parted out his Rickenbacher -- chrome plates, neck, body, tuning keys, badge -- got over $750 for everything (minus the pickup), which I thought was incredible...but isn't that the way junk yards work? Cars are often more valuable parted out than sold as one hunk. So, does anyone want to part out their dysfunctional Rick? $127 for the badge. _________________ Al

Al,
I did notice that that plate came from a parted out B-6, and I'm amazed that the logo plate went for so much. I didn't track any of the rest of the parts.
What did they sell for?
Maybe the parts are worth more than the whole. |

Richard, if you do a search of completed auctions under Rickenbacher, you'll see the breakdown of parts. If he'd been selling the pickup, he would have cleared $1,000, which is, I think, more than he would have gotten for an intact prewar B6. _________________ Al
