I recently purchased a Rittenberry rebuilt NV LTD. What is the history of the
NV LTD and Gary's own brand name steel guitars.

Scott,
Gary is a pedal steel guitar genius builder in his own right and has been building guitars for a long time. The more guitars that he builds, he seems to add a little more or something better to it. A year ago when I bought mine, I didn't think it could be any better, then along comes someone else and it has an added attraction.
I'd bet that if you called Gary and ask him, he would give you a straight answer.
If the NV LTD plays good and has great tone, then you will have your answer.
Most likely the Rittenberry owners will probably jump in on this subject. Bill Dobbins, I am tellin' it right???

For me, the Rittenberry is the only guitar. It's like a comfortable glove, a Ferrari, an angels harp!

Didn't he build the LeGarrett also ? I have played a couple of them ,and they plated great. I am thinking they are between the Nashville LTD and the Ritenberry but I may be wrong.

I love my Nash LTD! love it! would marry it if I could. Wink

Le Garritts, yes i think that is correct.
There is some controversy regarding the Nash LTD but I dont have the full story and dont want to get it wrong or tell half of it.

Tommy, Your right. The LTD was his first steel which Doug Jerigan played for years. Next was the Lagaritt, now the best of all is the Rittenberry.
I think Gary Is building one of,if not the best Steel's in the world. Gary is becoming a force to reckoned with.

I have A Nashville Ltd. Sd-10 that Gary built for me in 1990. He was building the Doug Jernigan model at that time, which was the D-10. This has been my main guitar and It still looks and plays like new. Gary knows how to build'em.

Ed Naylor was involved with the LTD brand name at the end. From what I remember on the forum he bought the Name and assets at the time.

Gary is a remarkable builder and person. I had a Nashville LTD, two of his Rittenberrys and all were fine instruments, to play and sound ingrediable. Stay in tune great, I would recommend them to everyone. Have a 2009 Rittenberry sd-10 and man what a steel Whoa! .
