There are 3 things I know of this weekend:

The California Rangers at the Renegade in Lakeside with Rick Schmidt on PSG steel. (fri and sat)

Lightning Train is at the Wagon Wheel in Santee with Dave Brazanski on PSG steel. (fri and sat)

check with the club web pages to verify.

Rick and Dave are fantastic players. You can hit both clubs in one night and get a double dose.

I'm playing non-pedal steel in Balboa Park at the December nights festival with a band called Three Chord Justice on Friday night at 7:30. (free concert - but crowded), but Rick and Dave would be my first choice.

The Renegade and Wagon Wheel are probably less then 5 miles a part if you wanted to catch them both in one night.

Hey thanks for the plug Tom & Joe! It sure would be nice to get to see/hear you too Tom!

Carl...I'm pretty confident that any one of those 3 choices Tom mentioned will yield some pretty classic country for these parts. Hope you have a great visit! Say hi if you make it to the Renegade one of the nights. BTW, here's a link: http://www.renegadebar.com/

Hey Rick, I'll be there tomorrow morning around the time Jim opens the doors, my FingerTip needs some work. Maybe I'll see you if you get out of the ocean by noon.

I agree. Oceanside isn't that far away and Jim's shop is well worth the drive.

FYI, I heard Jim is only going to be open until 2 or 3 tomorrow (Saturday) afternoon. He's got a gig.
