As I've said before, the Herby Wallace Model Mullen G2 steel guitar is without a doubt the finest I have ever played for tone, pedal action, staying in tune, and much more. Please check with us while delivery times are still good. Of course this model is only sold through Herby Wallace Productions. We have been a Mullen dealer for over 24 years. Of course, we also carry the Royal Precision line of Mullen steel guitars too. We also accept trades and accept visa, mastercard or discover.

Again, as I've said this is without a doubt the finest steel guitar I have ever played for tone, sustain, tuning, pedal action and more. If you haven't had a chance to try one of these out, I suggest you check it out as I think you will be impressed as I was. Mullen has really come up with something in this new Herby Wallace Model G2. I have been playing steel guitar for 52 years and of course had a chance to try a lot of guitars over the years, and in my opinion nothing comes close to this new HWP G2.

I've owned 7 pedal steel guitars, the 7th being a Mullen Royal Precision SD-10 and without a doubt this guitar is the best of the bunch but the others were all good as well. I had 2 Sho~Buds, 2 Carters, a GFI keyless which ranked at the top with the Mullen and an Emmons LaGrande SKH. The Mullen and GFI can be played with bare feet if you choose because of the smooth pedal action.I have'nt broken a string since I bought it on March 3rd.If I decide to buy another PSG it will definetly be another Mullen.

Ok, I'll bite. What is a Herby Wallace Mullen and how does it differ from a regular Mullen?

They are basically the same guitar, except the Herby Wallace model has polished pedals and knee levers standard rather than the black anodized ones, and it also has a bypass switch and tone control which the standard G2 doesn't have.

You asked the difference between the Mullen RP and the G2. First, let me say that the RP is a good guitar, but the HWP G2 is in a different ball park, so to speak. I have been playing and selling Mullen guitars since 1984 and I have seen many inovations and changes over the years, but the new HWP G2 is by far the finest steel guitar I have ever played. First, comparing the two models, the changer in the G2 is completely different than the RP, the wood thickness is different, the crossrods in the G2 are mounted in ball bearings for the smoothest playing guitar I have ever played, the pickups are different, the necks are different, the G2 has tuneable splits built in where the RP does not, the HWP G2 has polished pedals and knee levers, it also has a tone control and bypass switch. The bottom line is that the HWP G2 has a better tone and sustain and also plays better. It also has less cabinet drop.

I hope this answered some of the questions and as I said the new HWP G2 is in a class all it's own.

I have a George L in my royal Prescision which I'm very happy with. Ive been told by others the Mullen pickup is noisy. Do you like the Mullen pickups or do you prefere something else instead?

I use and prefer the Mullen single coil pickup. The ones in the HWP G2 are wound to 19,000 ohms. Any single coil pickup will have more hum than a humbucking, but I don't find that Mullen pickups are any more noisy than any other single coils I have used. Also, in my opinion, the pickup has to match the guitar. For example, in my HWP model Mullen I always used a 22,000 ohm single coil, but the 19,000 works better in the HWP G2.

mullen G2 is a fine steel for sure

I checked one out at ISGC a couple weeks ago

I found the tone to be fantastic and the pedal/ knee lever action was the smoothest ive ever played

I also saw several of the big name players using

the G2 if I could aford a new steel

the G2 would be on my short list to buy

theres only 3 steels on my list

Herby is great to deal with and is a very honest
as well as fantastic player!!

bump for a fine person and great steel!!
