One of my favorite Hawaiian tunes! C6 tuning, 6 strings. The backing is band-in-a-box, and I added a uke. I hope you like it. Cool

VERY NICE DOUG....aaah, to be in Manakoora basking in all it's beauty, romance, surf, waterfalls and tropical magic ! Only one problem, there is no such place as Manakoora, which is a fictitious island. A great song originally featured in the JON HALL, DOROTHY LAMOUR movie, "The Hurricane", (nothing to do with boxing or wrestling). Loved your beautiful tone. Very Happy

I beleive this song was written just for the Movie by a Mainland song writer. It's always been one of my favorites. Nice job and great Harmonics at the end.

Hi there Doug!

Another very fine performance........most enjoyable!

I'm just curious what it would have sounded like with an accoustic g'tar and Uke doing the rhythm.

Any chance you could dish us up another version and possible a 1.5 on reverb +/-?

Thanks to all who replied!

George, you're right. There's such place as Manakoora, it's pure Hollywood fiction! There is however a Manakura Island.

David, yes, this one will be in the new book.

Ray, I don't think I'll be re-recording this anytime soon... it's too much work! Cool

That was my immediate reaction. I'm assuming that you recorded the steel and percussion on two separate tracks. Now you need to drop Band-in-the-Box, which makes everything sound like elevator music, and replace it with a rhythm guitar, ukuleles, and probably a vibraphone or xylophone.
(When I play that number it's better titled "Mooning Manakoora") Very Happy
