Stacy Phillips will be coming through NYC and conducting a three hour dobro workshop on December 6th. Here is the info from his mailing:

"At long last Stacy Phillips has come back to New York City! Experience his belated return to the scenes of his childhood play. Pathos, bathos and lots of dobro teaching and demonstrations. This will be a hands-on workshop so bring your guitars.

Sunday, December 6 from 1 - 4 PM That's enough time to learn a lot about dobro playing.
19 West 21st Street, Suite 1002 in Manhattan

$65 if payment is received by November 23 and $75 after that date.

Thanks for posting this Mike, I would have had no idea it was happening. I just watched a clip of Stacy playing with Paul Howard, sheesh, I think any dobro picker would be nuts to miss this.

Do you know if he will be focusing on the GBDGBD tuning or a 6 or 13 tuning for the workshop?

I didn't realize that my original post left out some info at the bottom which I've since restored.

Gerald, I won't be able to make it to the workshop. You can contact Stacy at the supplied email address for any questions or special requests. My hunch is that it's going to be a 6 string G tuning workshop, but you know what happens when you assume....
