I don't know how many of you saw the Opry Saturday Night but Paul Franklin was filling in for Tommy. I was up visiting my best friend, Tim Atwood, and was lucky to be backstage and I saw Paul. It has been about twenty years or so since I have seen Paul. I had the opportunity to talk with him for a minute or two and we were remembering some of the good jam session from years past. As usual he was playing fine. It is always good to renew old friendships and see that some of your friends are still in front. Paul it was good to see you and I'm proud to see you doing well.

Paul Franklin on the Opry....cool..

I would like to hear him play for the older artists and hear what his ideas were for kicking and turning around in some of those songs.

I really enjoy what he does daily on the radio and his own tunes...this format is just a nice change from what we are used to hearing him do...

I wish I would have caught it.. I guess I will have to go back and listen to the archives.

I wonder how he liked using the Webb system that Tommy has in place?

Paul, not to get 'hung up' on an amplifier issue but what are your observations?

Thanks y'all

Well!!!

I started to watch the show, hoping to get my wife enthusing about the appearance of Tommy's new MSA (laying a bit of 'groundwork' - know what I mean?); when I saw that unusually-finished 'Franklin', it didn't occur to me that it would actually BE Paul, 'though I should have recognised that steel. Sadly, I didn't 'stay' with the show, and went to practise instead!

Look what I missed.....

For Tommy:-

When are you - AND the MSA - going to be back on? I need Susie to see a 'commercial' for it, so she can get used to the idea of a new guitar in our future! It'll be better still if Teresa can organise a close-up or two.....

Yes, Paul Franklin was kind enough to take time out of his schedule to play on the Grand ole Opry. Man oh man did he play!
By radio reception luck, I had the pleasure of hearing Paul play with the Whites as I was driving and literally had to pull over.
It was a real treat and honor for me to hear Paul on the Opry and I'm quite sure everyone there felt the same.
Paul Franklin, world class musician, world class gentleman.
My best,
T.W.
