I can play any mp3 I have on my HD, no problem. A friend sent me a couple of mp3's from a jam session we had, that he recorded. When he sent them to me, I was unable to play them, due to "missing codecs." I get the message: Windows Media Player cannot play the file. One or more codecs required to play the file could not be found." I use Media player, part of Windows XP. I think it's #11. Ideas? _________________ Mike

Upgrade to the latest version, 11, of Windows Media Player. Then make sure that file type .mp3 is associated with it. WMP has native support for mp3 files and should not need additional codecs, unless the mp3 codec was accidentally deleted somehow. _________________ "Wiz" Feinberg, Moderator SGF Computers Forum

If you can play MP3's on your hard drive, but not the ones that were sent to you, it sounds like the ones sent to you are corrupted in some way. |
