Adobe Systems updated its Shockwave Player on November 3, 2009, to version 11.5.2.602. This is a security update to patch critical exploited vulnerabilities in previous versions of Shockwave. You can obtain the latest version of Shockwave here.
For those wanting to know what Shockwave does and how it is different than Flash, here is a quote from the Adobe Shockwave description page.

Over 450 million Internet-enabled desktops have installed Adobe Shockwave Player. These people now have access to some of the best the Web has to offer - including dazzling 3D games and entertainment, interactive product demonstrations, and online learning applications. Shockwave Player displays Web content that has been created by Adobe Director. |
If you have any older version of Shockwave installed, update as soon as possible. _________________ "Wiz" Feinberg, Moderator SGF Computers Forum
