I got the dreaded call this morning shortly after 11 am. Such a tragedy. This is a loss that hits so many people as Bobby was a friend to everyone. A great talent and an even better man. I will miss him dearly.

As we all morn this loss, please do not forget to keep Linda and the Caldwell family in your thoughts and prayers.

May God rest his soul.

There are no words that can even begin to express our feelings with the loss of our dear friend, Bobby. He not only played so great with Ron on the shows, but he was an even greater friend. We have shared so many wonderful times with him and Linda and treasure every minute of them. Our sympathies, thoughts, prayers and love are with Linda and his family during this very difficult time. He is free of all the pain and may he rest in peace in the loving arms of our dear Lord. As we always signed off our phone calls, e-mails and cards - with much love from your Tennessee Hillbilly Friends.

This is the post I have dreaded to read. One of the best players I have ever heard, and from the brief long ago meeting, I picked up on he was a great human being to match. My condolences to his family.

What can I say except this is such a dreaded, hard shock for all of us in the music community!!! Bobby was (and still is) one of my biggest influences as a guitarist. I've been amazed by his playing since I was around 12 years old. Every year I get the honor of playing in the staff band in many of the steel guitar jams and shows here in Branson Mo, and there's not a song that goes by during these performances that I don't find myself thinking: What approach would Bobby take on this song? And I do my best (of my ability anyway) to apply the knowledge that I have learned just by listening to him play. One of the highlights of my career happened back in the early 90's when I was working up at the Lake of the Ozarks. I was jamming with Jimmy Queen and a few other friends at a lodge up there. Bobby was playing too. The last song of the night was Bobby and I playing "C Jam" together...throwing it back and forth between he and I. It was such an amazing rush for me...getting to play like this with one of my greatest heroes!!! After the song ended, Bobby and I just fell into a hug with each other. It was such an honor for me and I will NEVER forget it..or Bobby...for as long as I live. So long old friend...may you rest in peace. Good Lord willing, someday I'll get to join the eternal jam with you up there in God's great band.
God Bless you and your family,
Dino* Sad

Rest in peace our dear friend and in the arms of Our Precious Lord. Not much I can say right now other than the expected news, which came to us around 11:00 a.m. this morning, is still a shock and has sadened me and Barbara tremendously. Bobby and I were so very close, even shared the same birthday, so many laughs and many tears. I will really miss our frequent calls to one another. Not only was he truly a giant in the music world, but more so a better person.
Please keep Linda and the family in your prayers because the ones left behind really need our prayers and support at this time.
Go rest high on the mountain dear friend we love you,
....Roy and Barbara
