I just received Mike Perlowin's red Fessenden U-12 today
(and a CD compilation of his awesome steel renditions of some great classical music).

Its a 4X2 C6 setup now, but the parts are here for the 7X5 original.

Im gonna play it for a while like it is, then start adding to the C6 the other U-12 changes that are different from my Mullen S10 E9 3X5 setup.

I've been following a few U-12 threads regarding pulls and tunings. F# to G is a recent thread.
Any info on the original Fessenden 7X5 copedent would be of great help.
Thanks Mike, and thanks Jerry for building great sounding guitars (that are easy to rebuild I've read)!

Hey Clete
If you make it to the Austin Steel Guitar Jam.
You can check out my U-12..
It is loaded pretty good and I can tell you some of my experiences of settling into a U-12.
I have a Thomas and a Carter..
Hope to see you there. ^_^

Fessendens are made to order, so you'd have to find the original owner to get that info. The standard changes are pretty much like this:
Tab:
      1   2   3   4   5   6   7    LKL  LKV  LKR  RKL  RKR
F#                                                      G
D#                                            D    C#
G#        A
E             F#          E         F              D#
B     C#      C#              C#         Bb
G#        A                   A#
F#                    F                                 G
E                         D         F              D#
B     C#          C                           D
G#        A
E                 Eb  F             F
B                 G#  C#

The knee levers would vary in position according to what you're comfortable with.

Mike,
I left a message with Jerry about nylon tuners (I've got 18 spare rods).
This is a great sounding horn!
Sorry you didn't have any info on previous owners.
Tracking may be difficult as there's no visible serial number.
Is Jim Palenscar going to add a wrist lever to that MSA?

Ken,
I hope to get up to Austin on Sunday, last one sounded like a great meet!

b0b,
Thanks so much for the coped. I noticed pedal 6 has a change on string 4 from E to E, is that correct?
Heres the coped I have now:

Compared to your coped, looks like I have P7 on P2, P5+Bb on P3, P4 is the same, and P5 pulls low A's up to B. the LKV is on LKR and last but not least RKR raises 4 from F to F# and lowers 8 from F to E.

Ive been scouring the threads for all pertinent info.
Should I tune the whole thing down to B?
As this is my first C6 setup, any comments and suggestions are appreciated.

CLETE-YOU HAVE YOUR E'S LOWERED TO E FLAT WITH A KNEE LEVER TO PLAY IN THE B6TH MODE. THAT PEDAL SIX RAISE TO E YOU ASKED ABOUT IS RAISING STRING 4 FROM E FLAT UP TO E, AND LOWERING 8TH STRING E FLAT DOWN TO D. YOU MIGHT CHECK OUT BUD CARTER'S WEBSITE. HE HAS A PRETTY STANDARD E9 B6 COPEDENT POSTED.

I hear ya John, thanks. Wink
Makes sense to me now.
No wonder the tuning was already at E originally, there was no lever for it!
I don't have an E lower lever (or F in my case here) So I'll tune those F's back down to E again for now.
That'll be first on my list, as soon as I can get a hold of some nylon tuners!

Yes, it's used while you hold the RKL for B6th mode. It raises the lowered E back up to E.
