Has anyone ever tried a "Blackstar" for pedal steel use? If so, how do they sound and which model did you try.

I played thru a little Core:ID solid state when i was starting out, it didn't sound that great until i got a tube preamp, but you're talking about an $80 amp. I would like to try a 20+ watt tube head from their HT or Venue series, A/B vs Fender Bassbreaker.

One thing to investigate with their solid state amps is I remember a decent number of people reporting problems with firmware upgrades
