In many bands I play with, steel is not needed on every song so I have been looking to be able to create a B3 type sound as an alternative sound for some tunes. I was not interested in lugging a keyboard.
I just purchased a POG 2 - Intially I've found it pretty amazing on steel for creating an organ sound. I tried using it with a rotary simulator but found that using basic left hand vibrato technique worked well for the speed up and slow down. A little distortion seems to work well too. I'm still messing with settings and will try it on a gig tonight but so far I'm at least intriqued. I would be interested in hearing from anyone else who has tried this and what settings they are using. Thanks. |

I approached this the other way around.
I used an H & K Rotosphere for the Leslie sound and really liked that sound on the old gospel songs.
Just recently I added a Pog 2 for the full organ effect. |

I used one for awhile, I loved it at first but then turned on it. It's a powerful unit for sure!
Kind of "software-sounding" for my taste in the end. Enjoy
