I have used photobucket and was able to figure it out. Trust me if I can do it , it had to be easy. I am terrible with computers. As soon as I get a good picture of the keyless MSA double neck I will be trying to figure it out again so I can change my picture .

The free Google Picasa program will do some photo modification. It will also create an album of all pictures on your PC.

There are also free programs around that will create an Avatar from photos. Do a google search.

I find it easiest to just use the 'paint' facility which is built into windows

Hover the cursor over the image that you want to reduce

A small box will appear that tells you the size of the image, in the example that I am going to show you, the size is 1598 X 1340.

Get your calculator, and work out what the percentage reduction will be to get the image smaller than 640 (in this case, it's 40%)

Right-click on the image

Left click on 'edit'

The image will come up in 'paint'
Left click on 'image'

Left click on 'stretch/skew'

A box will appear with horizontal and vertical dimensions

Delete the 100 %, and insert 40% in both boxes, and press 'ok'

The image will now be reduced.
Left click on 'file'

A box will open, left click on 'save as'

A box will open, left click on 'save'

The easiest way is to use Microsoft's own * FREE * XP Image Resizer Powertoy, which you can download here:

http://download.microsoft.com/download/whistler/Install/2/WXP/EN-US/ImageResizerPowertoySetup.exe

Installation take just seconds, and it integrates into XP's shell menu, so you can Right click any image ( that's already ON your computer) and you will get the choice to "resize pictures"with 4 automatic size range choices.
