I think. First of all thanks for all of your replies to the topic. Having also played violin since 5 yrs old, I'm now 69. I have an excellent ear, and know when someone or myself is out of tune. I use a TU-80 Boss tuner, but only for convenience. I think my problem was this. This week at home I set up my guitar determined to solve the problem.I discovered that my 6th string was the culprit. When depressed and then released it would not go back to the note, but was sticking and sounded out of tune. Since I had new strings I decided to change the 6th string. I oiled my changer and fingers as well as it was overdue. Problem solved. Last weekend when my lead player told me I had an intonation problem, I could not tell because he was playing so loud. I will tell him to lower his volume this weekend even though he is 50 lbs heavier than me
