Don't forget the January meeting of the Manasota Steel Guitar Club in Bradenton on Tuesday, the 19th. We'd like to see some of the folks from Catfish Johnny's down this way. We pick from about 6:30 to 9:30 at the Eagles in Oneco. Pedals, non pedals, or dobros all welcome. Check the link for directions.

Should be a good jam with our Northern and Canadian
pickers back down here.
Unfortunately, I can't make it this month.

Hi Guys! We won't be able to make it this month. Roy isn't feeling very well. In fact I am making a doctor's appointment tomorrow. Please keep him in your prayers. We will miss seeing you all. Know that we are thinking of you and wishing we were there. Laurie |

Laurie- Take good care of that old coot, we miss him (and you) and want you back as soon as possible. To everyone else, tonight (E.S.T.} or tomorrow night (P.S.T) or 23:30 G.M.T Tuesday, the ever-popular, most exciting and sometimes grandiose Manasota Steel Guitar Club jam will convene. (Be there or be square, dude)
Hope to have a good gathering.
Thanks to all our supporters, past, present and future.
Clyde and Mr.Murphy |

Boy, what a night
The tourists (yankees) (Dave, Clayton and Tim) played just great.
Locals Phil and Don, using canned back-up, had a great sound.
Our guitar player, Skip, decided to play a little steel. It was just wonderful, but left a hole on lead guitar. Oh did I mention Tim Rowley took up the slack and played lead.
Thanks to Charles Hulen for the short (not his fault) video and Ray Thiebault for the still photographs.
We hope all had a good time (we did).
Don't forget Phil Bender's Jam Feb 18. 2010 12:00 till ?? in Palmetto, FL. Give him a call at 941-722-9889 or philben04@gmail.com |

We knew that you would all have a good time. Clyde, how is Tom? You didn't mention him. The doctor said yesterday that it probably was several things to make him have vertigo and "faint like feelings". He lowered his blood pressure medication, gave him a nasal spray to unclog his ears and we pray this all works. Please keep him in prayers. I am rather attached to him and want to spend forever with him. LOL Thanks everyone. We love you all. Laurie |

Yep - it was a really great evening made even better by our northern friends coming in and supporting us - thanks a bunch to Clayton, Dave and Tim. I also enjoyed Phil's rendition of Jerry Byrd's 'Estrelitta' (sp?)and some of the chords Don gets with his setup are great - sorta like a 10 string universal - said he'd show me how it works. Personally, I enjoyed this week because I got to play steel for the first time in many years - I think some serious woodshedding is in order, though.
And, of course, everybody's thanks go out to Tom and Clyde who, apparently, get off on moving and setting up equipment and keeping the whole thing together - thanks, guys!!!
See ya'll next time. _________________ 2013 Brook Torridge, 2014 Martin 000-18, two homebrew Teles, Evans RE200 amp, Quilter 101R head, understanding wife of 45 years. 'Steeless' at the moment but looking...... |
