my take, for similar money I would go with the Tascam 24 track. Is this unit 16 tracks or 8 with an additional 4 stereo pairs ? Unless you really need a drum machine, the drums on this unit are very similar to the Zoom MR3 which can be had for about $100.
Probably a good quality machine but certainly see what it offers for $600 over the Tascam 24 track which is close in price.
