I may buy a Fender Performer 1000, which has 100 watts and a 12" JBL in it. My steel don't sound bad played through it, as long as I turn the treble and mid off, and the mid-shift knob on. I'd use it mainly for my Tele, which sounds great through it. It still sounds a little treblish, tinny, or whatever you'd call it, with my steel through it.
I'm wondering if I had a small cabinet with another JBL in it to hook to the amp if that would help the sound, or just make it more tinny? Would there be any way to get a little more bass in it.

Well, no advice, so thanks. But I've decided to buy this amp. I'm thinkin this Fender Performer 1000 with 100 watts and the G-125-B J.B.L 8 ohm speaker, could be a real good
steel/Tele amp. I'm getting a good steel sound from it now, and I don't think you can beat it for Tele.
It has a clean channel with vol, treble, mid and bass, and then it has the distortion, with a gain 1 and gain 2 along with a treble control, body, bass and volume. And a reverb and effects knob. With my black box hooked to it, with the variable z, or whatever it's called, I can dial in a fuller sound, not so tinny, or treblish. This might be a good amp to double up on: steel/tele. And only weighs around
42 lbs. That's a guess, but I bet I ain't off far.

Thanks for the link Jeff. There was a post or two in the link that talked about bottom end. That's the only thing this Fender Performer don't have is a lot of bottom end, but it still has enough for me, I even switched it over on C6 and hit the boo-wah pedal, not the sound I'd prefer, but close enough.
I don't play a lot on C6 anyway.

I don't play much C6 either. I put a pad on it and called it a LDG model. |
