Hey Jack, be forwarned! I just got a phone call from Skip. He says he is going to tag along with Tom and me tomorrow. We'll see.
Tom Chaffin is out of town and will not be attending.
Looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow. We'll miss Ernie.

Well it finally happened Skip really did show up. From the conversation on the long trip home I think he really enjoyed himself.
Don't forget the Manasota Steel Guitar Jam next Tuesday Oct 20. (shameless plug!)

Thanks Skip for making the long trip to help us out.
It was nice to have a lead player to fill in the holes.
Thanks to all who showed up and to our wonderful band members.
We can't do it without you.
A specail thanks to Catfish Johnny for the use of his hall and sound system.

On a somber note, and I'm going to state it bluntly, we are having too many problems with playing too loud. I don't want to be the "bad guy" but this needs stating. We are there at the graciousness of Catfish Johnny and one of the conditions of allowing us to use the facility ( whether it is free or if we paid to use the facility) is the volume level. When I get complaints from Johnny, customers in the restaurant, from both musicians and audience that it's too loud and people either holding their ears or leaving when someone is playing loud, the bottom line "it is too loud". The design of the building also plays a part in this and exacerbates the volume level issue. In all walks of life there are rules and regulations that we must follow, whether we aree with them or not, and this is one that we must follow. Bottom line, if you won't or can't abide by the volume level restrictions, the Florida Steel Guitar Club jam is not a place you want to be. |

Thanks to all who have written Jack about the volume level situation in which we have no control over.
We are bound as he has said by the request of the owner of the establishment, Catfish Johnny who has allowed us to use his place FREE of charge.
Thanks for supporting our Florida Steel Guitar Club.
