It is with great pleasure that I read Tom's retraction http://www.steelguitarhistory.com of the slanderous statements that he made regarding one of the true gentlemen in the steel guitar industry- Maurice Anderson. I am proud to have Maurice as a good friend and have also enjoyed a good relationship with Tom in the past and it does my heart good to see this particular baby put to bed.

jim -

if it was really slander, and completely untrue, then why is the new msa bothering with their 'resolution process' at all?

nobody is perfect, and nobody wants their past dragged out in front of everybody.

both tom and maurice are key contributors to the instrument we love, and well respected. that doesn't mean that either of them have uncheckered pasts.

let's leave it at the peace that they've made, and not fan any flames.

Bruce- in a case such as this - where so many defammatory comments were hurled~ it is refreshing to have those comments retracted. However- words said in anger can never be retracted. The personal harm done to individuals cannot be measured nor can the the anguish that statements like those referenced cause one to endure. Regardless of what prompted Tom to retract his statements, it is clear that he was in error or there would be no such retraction. End of story. No flame fanning- just cooling off.

I think that Tom's statement speaks for itself. Can we leave it at that, please, and stop drawing lines in the sand?

Tom and Reece have apparently settled their differences. Wars of words between their "supporters" serve no useful purpose that I can see.

This has been discussed to death and then some. There's nothing to be gained by discussing this again here, I say save it for email or somewhere else.

It is always great to see disputes setteled. I'm sure all parties involved are glad this is over.

Yes John, periods of widely scattered BS followed by silence across the area.
Apparently.

He who relishes another man's misery is perhaps destined to share in it.

b0b's correct. We need to leave this alone.

You were right, Marty; plenty of scattered BS. I think I'll make the silence part happen for myself. Goodnight Mrs. Calabash where ever you are.
