I have been traveling with the Chris Chitsey band for the past 2 years, throughout the southwest, and am quiting to be available for other opportunities.

We perform mostly 90 minute concerts and use in-ear monitors. 7 piece band with professional sound engineer, Silver Eagle tour bus.

If you are interested in auditioning and are financially self-sufficient(it does not pay professional wages or per diem).

The preferred candidate will be:
20-30 something.
be financially self-sufficient.
able to depart on a Wed or Thur night and return Sunday or Monday i.e. very flexible schedule with last minute changes.

If you fit this description, e-mail me directly at kj1008@hotmail.com

You can view our Tour schedule at: www.chrischitsey.com

In all seriousness, this is a valid opportunity for the right person. I'm just being real about what the requirements are.

I am grateful for the experience!

Having recently been dumped from a band because I "didn't fit the image they were trying to promote"----read "I am too old"---I feel justified, after reading here the preference for a person 20-30, in deducing that the band leader probably spends more time primping in a mirror and fussing over his hair and makeup and less time getting a clue what music is. Do y'all call him Brittany, for short?

I think it's really nice of Kerry to offer his gig to a forumite.

Just looking for a replacement for himself in this band shows he is young professional musician who truly cares about the band he is leaving.

If I was 30 years younger, lived in Texas & wasn't married, I'd be on that bus as soon as I could.

Ah yes... the good ol' days!

Only we had to travel in old beatup Ford vans with bald tires!

I'm with you, Danny----I remember how that dude got reamed a few weeks ago for having the audacity to offer a gig to a steeler in N. Cal. here on the forum. No, I have nothing but respect for Kerry and I'm sorry, Kerry, for coming on with such attitude but I assure you, it's a sensitive spot for me. Ought to draw up a list of artists who have been disqualified by the age limit. Lloyd who? Naw, he would clash with the lighting.

Danny is correct

I'm trying to help my friends find a replacement asap. I'm leaving the band from my side to play with other musicians. They have a relatively full schedule coming up.

It's not an age thing, the fiddle player in this group is 54.

At this time, they are not commanding enough money in the marketplace to offer an income one can depend on full-time, but maybe 6-9 months from now that will change.

It's been fun, exciting at times, hard work, long bus rides, great experience, but now it's time for me to change and move into other experiences I want to create.
