I'm looking for a 2-channel combo that I can use for steel and slide guitar(with distortion). I'm currently hauling around a NV112 with a digital reverb/delay pedal for steel and a Marshall 1 x 12" combo with some pedals for the slide. I would like to go to (1)combo and the applicable effects to keep it as simple as possible. We usually have very short set-up times on our venues. I would consider a rack system if that's the only way to go. What about the Vegas 400? Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks, Marty B.

Thanks Ron, I noticed that Peavey offers a "mod" document on their site so I'm wondering what that's about--a call to Mike Brown would be in order. Even with that I haven't noticed allot of them for sale which tells me that people keep them---good sign. I would have to sacrifice the tube sound on the slide guitar distortion but I could emulate it pretty good. More feedback is appreciated!!!

Thanks again, Marty B.

The Vegas is the only Peavey steel amp I would ever be willing to keep. Much better tone than any of the Nashville's ,old or new.

Marty - I had Peavey do a mod on one of mine once - was very pleased at the reaults and it was very inexpensive -
I have one now and I think I am going to leave it stock - sounds great.....Ron

"slide guitar(with distortion)."?
Rock? Blues? If so, a Vegas is a lousy choice. But then, I'm a fan of tube amps, and rejoiced on the day I bought an old Twin (actually a Quad Reverb, Johnson splits, with a 15"), and got rid of that sterile-sounding Vegas. Just me. YMMV!
