I have a Williams 12 string exE9, which I just put on new strings with a wound 6th string. The problem is, when I try to tune that string, I can tune it open OK, but then when I try to tune the Bpedal on the nylon hex tuners the open string changes with the pedal tone, therefor it will never really come into tune. BTW I use a Peterson Strbo Flip, which is more precise than I will ever be, but it is just kind of a pain not getting it perfectly in tune. Has anyone else had this happen?

I drop my 6th string to F# and had to go with a plain string in order to accomplish the change.
I use a 22 plain on the 6th.

You need to increase the B pedal travel

I agree with both Erv and Richard here. A wound string takes more travel to get up or down to the note than a plain(especially down)
It's easier on the B pedal travel..it can be adjusted on the pull no problem. It is more of a pain on the G# to F# lower. I found out that I definitely needed a plain string here. ... on my changer anyway Smile

Delvin, I had the same issue with my 6th string. I sent an email to Mr. Rudolph, he quickly replied with the correct adjustments. Turned out to be a minor adjustment. Another thing you might check is a complete return of the pedal or lever. You might have to gently drive the delrin bushing back into the body just a tad.
