Jimmy Day played steel guitar on this Charlie Walker classic tune, "Pick Me Up On Your Way Down".

Was he using a non-pedal steel guitar or a pedal steel guitar?

Could it have been his triple neck Wright Custom guitar?

Just the intro alone indicates an E9th tuning with quite snappy A&B pedal changes. The solo is clearly early E9th style pedal playing and so is the signature ending which has been played over and over well into the 70's.
