Greetings Folks!
I’ve partly roughed out 1 changer finger but I’m having some trouble with positioning of my lowering lever. I’ve considered a number of options including an inclined plane but that only makes things worse. I’m unfamiliar enough with the mechanism that I think I may have too much pull right now to even get a double lower. I’m also assuming that once I get the lower figured out the raise lever won’t be as difficult. Enjoying the challenge though!
I'd appretiate any help that you'd be willing to share. Measurements would be great. I'm bristling in anticipation.
Thanks! Eldon |

Eldon, I'll bet if you post a picture or two, someone can help you figure it out. |

Jerry Fessenden makes a fine changer. He can probably tell you anything you want to know about one. |

Eldon, I am not quite understanding your problem. That's why I have not responded yet.
The picture you downloaded form my photobucket site should be descriptive enough. I do realize though that the measurements are not there and that makes it all the more difficult.
Tell me: What difficulties are you having in positioning the lowering bar? Is it the exact placement on the raise bar? Is it the exact placement on the finger? There are some things that dictate where the holes have to be drilled, for example, the hole for the shaft in the finger and then where you see where the bearing will strike the finger.
I don't understand what you mean by "too much pull right now to even get a double lower."
Also,"a number of options including an inclined plane"
Actually, it is not that huge a problem once you get your head around it. We should be talking on the phone. _________________ BenRom Pedal Steel Guitars

Greetings Folks,
Here's the image:
My original quandry was that the distance between B1 and B2 was excessive at 1 inch for point A to move 1/8 of an inch.
Bent & I discussed it over the phone last night, he suggested that I move the lower lever closer to the changer axle. I understand what's happening now - I'm "good to go".
In addition I got some measurements off a Carter D10 tonight (C6 neck) and point A did not move more than 1/32 of an inch on the top of the changer finger.
The raise lever is not included of course.
If anyone has any other comments please send them along.
Thanks Again! Eldon |
