Not to worry, guys. The MP3 sounded like a calliope in the travelling circus at the local fairground. Try as they might, the folks that write software such as that couldn't even fill MY shoes - and I'm a lousy newbie player!

Electronic replication of the pedal steel guitar may, at some point, come to pass. The myriad nuances of the instrument seem to imply that, if and when it becomes a reality, then all instruments will be artificially created and the live musician will have gone the way of the dinosaur. To carry that one step further it's possible that some bright-eyed geek will attempt to generate variations of the human voice.

Can you possibly imagine attending a concert and staring at a super-computer feeding a giant LCD screen? I shudder at the thought!

Don't be smug. They're on the first rung of the ladder. Remember when we said they'll never get
close to the sound of an acoustic piano!
