Carl Vaughn called me this morning to say that Bobby Wayne, 20 year veteran of Merle Haggard's band, will be performing with us tonight at Big Balls of Cowtown in the Fort Worth Stockyards!

I played six nights a week for three years with Bobby back in the early 80's and am really looking forward to the reunion. Please try to make it by for this magical night!

Heard that on 92.1 this AM. That should be a blast. My son is getting married this weekend, so I'll be out of pocket, or else I'd be there. Folks, if you can make it, please do as Jim's a hell of a player, Carl has killer vocals, and Big Balls needs the support. There's only a few rooms around doing what they're doing, and they need all of our support. All the clubs hiring bands do.

While you're in the area, just down the street will be Ted Solesky and Ricky Pack playing with Pat Waters at Borrowed Money. As Ricky Davis said earlier, he'll be there with Jake's dad on Sunday.

If you're out of town and trying to find something to do, hit the Stockyards for the weekend and see Jim, Ted, and Ricky. You won't regret it!!!!!

Hey Jim...are you there Saturday night? I have a guitar player friend in from MPLS wanting to go to see some great live kicking country picking. Are there other places where some great steel players are playing? Where's Dicky Overby playing?? Hope to see you Saturday night Jim playing up a storm.

Well I just got home from Big Balls of Cowtown, and folks you did indeed miss a magical night. You would not have know form hearing them that it had been many years since they picked togeher.
Jim was awesome on steel and Bobby and Carl sang a lot of great real country.
Next time they play together I highly recommend you get out and see them.

Thanks Peggy, it certainly was a magical night. We determined that we hadn't played together since 1984 but it felt like it was only yesterday! There certainly were many memories revived from this reunion, and we are talking about doing more gigs together.

BTW, Bobby and Peggy had a nice chat about her late husband Joe, and Carl even sang one of his songs. This was one of the most memorable gigs I've played in a long time!

Can anyone tell me how to get in touch with Bobby Wayne? I haven't seen him in 20 years or so...He and Dennis Hromec were best men at my wedding in Ft. Worth in 1976 when I was playing 6 nights a week with Dennis at the ''Stagecoach'' club on Belnap in Ft. Worth....Would like to say ''Hi'' to him.
