If I plug any of my guitars directly into my Peavey Special 130 on the lead side, I get a kind of muddled sound. If I run them through my Ernie Ball volume pedal, they sound crystal clear. I don't have a footswitch yet , so I don't know what the rest of the amp sounds like. Why don't I get a nice clean sound when I plug directly in? |

Typically you will experience some tone "muddiness" when a lower-end volume pedal is plugged in before an instrument signal to an amplifier. I've never experienced a volume pedal make a guitar signal more "bright". A good volume pedal should not change the tone of the guitar- maybe there is something wrong with the ppot in the pedal? _________________ Adam Sorber

Without connecting the two button footswitch, the amp is configured in the lead channel when you plug in. The clean channel is accessible only with the footswitch, therefore the low eq control is barely heard. So, the amp sounds like it is operating normally. |

How about the impedance of the EB pedal? I believe they are either 250K or 500K ohms. |
