Someone may have already posted this, and if there is copyright heartburn, I'll take it off. I have had this CD for some years and it is nearly worn out. For those that echo the instrument is "Country Only" I simply rejoice in those folks' faces when these guys start kickin' butt.

It has always been hard for me to hear the artists' name but my dear Dovie, with her computer expertise, put this one together so that all during their solos the guys names are always present. The musicianship of one Louie Bellson on drums and Henry Stryzlecki on Bass simply set these guys on fire.

I tried to get in touch with Dave Burley for his permission to post but I think he's had some sadness in his family. I believe his brother passed on. Our condolences and I would be mistaken if Dave would object to everyone hearing this again. You new folks listen up, you'll hear licks and chops here that aren't always executed in today's steel playing. Hope you enjoy. Bob if there's bitchin' please just delete the entire thread.

The announcer has overlooked
announcing Jimmy Day at 3:36
(hence making the video cue
inaccurate as well).

I still have an unopened
vinyl copy of this album.

Along with reissueing
this recording on CD,
Burley is intending to
offer the 'Cavalcade of
Guitars' on CD, now that
Les Paul is gone.

Russ, you're absolutely right and it will have to wait to get fixed. We're on our way out of the country right now. Sorry folks.

Edited to add: We've pulled the link and deleted the You Tube per Dave's request and we're looking forward to the newer releases

I am in the process of re-releasing the album, 'It's The First Time. It has been in the hand's of a studio in Dallas for over four months and they haven'nt finished it yet. I'f I had that pristine copy of the original I would probably have it redone right here and have it out on cd within about six week's. I really cannot find out what the problem is there in Texas. Today we finished the cd featuring Jimmy Bryant and Buddy Emmons live at Rogers Musicland. It will be officially released Monday the 21st of Dec. This session was recorded in 1976 and as far as I know, it is the only recording ever done by Bryant and Emmon's head to head. . I am working on another cd which features, Bryant, Emmons, Jernigan, Maurice. and Tharpe live at the HorseShoe Lounge in Muskegon, Mich. Wild. The reason for the 33 year delay is because the masters were sent to Nashville to be put on vynyl and were lost by the pressing plant. Recently some tapes were discovered from those Michigan sessions and I will be releasing them soon. The Bryant/Emmons session is one of those recently discovered tapes. It was good to hear 'It's The First Time' again but I would think thatthe availabity of it on YouTube will probably really hurt the sales of the new cd. I really don't know the laws concerning this situation.I put three hard years work on those projects in the mid seventies and I am really excited about finally getting some of my production's out there for all of you to enjoy 33 years after they were recorded. It is my dreams finally coming true. Thanks, Dave A. Burley

Hearing the one track, on YouTube, make me really want to get the whole thing.
Maybe it's just me, but I think having a track or two exposed and available to the entire world, on YouTube, would help with sales. It's free advertising that can be seen by everyone with a computer. Just post where the CD is available, or a link on the youtube clip.

Dave we just got back in town and will pull it off both the forum and you tube and if you'll send me your address I'll send you this coppy of 'first time', and look forward to 'buying' the newer cd's. Put me on the list.

Edited to Add: Alvin I agree with your post, but I can certainly see Dave's side of the picture and with reverence to his wishes, we pulled it, and we certainly didn't intend to hurt sales of the 'new one' at all. Matter of fact we didn't even know Dave was trying to bring it back, but more power to him and we'll support him 100%.
