I was watching a George Jones tribute last night and
Tanya Tucker did Walk through this World. Was that
Kevin Owens on the Bud backing her? Paul Franklin and most of the players were backing most of the artist but I think that was Kevin with her.

I was wondering that very same thing. Nice looking old Bud, looked Purpleheart to me, but hard to tell with the fast camera work and stage lighting. Alan Jackson opened the show with his bad, who is his player with the Derby? Lots of nice shots of Paul and his Franklin.

From what I've heard about Kevin Owens, That had to be him, I bought that 63 Sho-Bud from Bobbe about 15 yrs ago, & had some upgrading done on the mechanics, I then Traded it back to Bobbe a couple yrs later,It was built for Jimmy Day in 1963 & is a gorgeous guitar, The George Jones tribute was the best thing I've heard in a very long time, with Paul playing a Masterpiece on every song he was on, Congratulations to Mr. Paul Franklin!

Jim and Al thanks for the reply. Yes Paul sounded great as did the band and orchestra. Really nice production. What a beautiful Bud Al. Do you have any
pics of that guitar?

Was it this fingertip??

If so; that is Kevin's Fingertip Shobud of choice.
If it was a Blue permenant; than that is the Blue Darlin' made for Jimmy Day; that Al spoke of.
Alan's steel player is Robbie Flint.
Kevin has been playin' with Tanya....so I wouldn't doubt it and he lives in Nashville.
If anyone sees him; tell him to Call Ricky Freakin' Davis.

Yes that is Redd Volkaert.
I have a Video of Dale Watson's that I played Kevin's Blue Darlin' on it...but the video is in black and white....ha..so ya can't tell.
It's called "The Best Part of Me".
Also played on a Christmas Video of Dale's called "Honky Tonk Christmas" that I'm playing that blue darlin in...so if ya wanna search those to see if it's the one; go for it.

Kevin plays the 63 Jimmy Day 'Bud pretty much exclusively now. That's the one he used on a recent session with me (Flowers). Killer tone.
And yes that was him playing with Tanya on the George Jones tribute.
Kevin loaned the red one to a friend a while back, because he didn't have a guitar at the time. The friend promptly sold it. I believe it currently resides in Northern Europa.
