I finaly heard back from the guy and it turns out he has two more gigs in oct. that he is doing before he will sell this Emmons so I will be getting pictures of it soon and will help sell it later in oct.

Thanks everyone for your interest and I'll be back on later when he is ready to sell.

Hopefully in the mean time your friend will decide to sell it for what it's really worth instead of just "giving" it away for the price above Very Happy Whoa! Neutral

I would think that since it was posted for sale at a price, and I bought it for that price without negotiating at all, that it is already sold. I can wait until the October gigs are over for the guitar. Anybody care to comment on this?...or is this bad selling etiquette backing out on a deal? Stacey, is this what you're intending, or am I just reading into Ben's comment and assuming this is what you're doing?

Brain, if you already sent payment and the guy is gonna hold onto to the guitar for another few gigs all of a sudden, I wouldn't be happy. But if you didn't send payment yet, I guess there's not a lot you can do. Still, something about all this does not seem right. Hopefully it works out for the best for you.

Stacey, I hung on for your relpy but I haven't heard a word on the amp I said I would take, I believe right out of the chute. Is it mine or is tied up in these Oct. gigs also, and if so, is it mine then? A reply would be courteous. Ken Collins

Leave it to a computer forum for everyone to get all bent out of shape!

The guitar is not sold and I had no idea what this guitar was worth myself.I recorded a band over the weekend at my studio and the steel player(a guy I've known a little)told me about his friend that has the emmons for sale.I told him I could help sell it on this forum. He told me that it might be worth 2500.00 but told me to list it for $2000. I'm a guitar player and don't know steel guitar value's at all. I was just trying to help.

I finaly heard today that the man selling the guitar has two more gigs he wants to do in oct before he retires and sells it.Thats all I can tell everyone here.

I'm sorry for the outrage that this has seemed to have produced. I almost wish now that I wouldn't have offered to help sell it to be honest.

I see now that I should have looked into this more before listing it on here.If it had been a piece of recording gear I would have known just what to ask for it.

Again, sorry for the situation I have caused.
Perhaps we should list it for closer to what it's worth later in oct. but I don't want to get myself in trouble on this forum either so I'm not sure what to do at this point?

Regards, Stacey

The only reason I commented was because Brain said in his post that he actually bought it. I guess that's not the case.

Chris. Just to clariy, I didn't actually send the money yet, but I was the first to respond and said I would take the guitar at the asking price after reviewing the photos (see above). I then heard nothing back. It's time to let this one go guys. Sounds like Stacey is stuck in the middle on this one and this may have been the seller's doing....Stacey's comments clearly say that the seller was willing to sell it for $2,000 - great price or not. He's now changed his mind. I'm over it. Stacey, no hard feelings.
