I am trying to locate Donnie Crider, I believe from Marble Falls, Texas. Donnie was about 13 when his mother and father drove from Texas to Michigan for Donnie to appear on the stage at the Horseshoe Bar along with Buddy Emmons, Doug Jernigan, Maurice Anderson and Julian Tharpe. Last I heard he was working in a recording studion in Houston, Texas. Thanks for any help.

Dave,
Last I heard from Donnie, he and his dad had a honky tonk there in Marble Falls they were running. I don't know the name but I'll see what I can find out.
Donnie was the steel player for Doug Supernaw when he had a record deal. When that gig went south he moved back to Marble Falls to hang out with his family. _________________ A couple of guitars

Crider used to play at the Stagecoach Inn in Stamford, Tx many moons ago. He played with Mark Scott and Southern Comfort. His dad played fiddle. I was there the night Goose turned 16. This was before I became interested in pedal steel. I visited with Kelly Spinks (Miles Of Texas Band) about a year ago and he had seen Crider. Can't remember where he said Goose was now. If you could figure out some way to contact Kelly, he could probably help you find Goose. I think Kelly is from Brownwood, Tx. |

I just talked to Bubba Cox, who owns the Cotton Club in Granger TX. When I asked about finding Goose, he said "good luck."
Donnie is still in Marble Falls, but doesnt' have a phone. You might be aware that he had a brain aneurisym several years ago and almost died from it. There were several benefits held to help him out.
Lynn might know where Donnie can be found, but I don't know how to find Lynn Crider either. So... good luck is the answer, I guess.
I've known Goose since he was 16 years old, followed his career through Frenchie Burke, Border Line, Supernaw, etc.. He was a monster then, and no doubt is still one, although one with his share of hard times. _________________ My rig: Infinity and Telonics.
Son, we live in a world with walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with steel guitars. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg? |

I see Lynn from time to time and have asked about Goose. As far as I know he was living around Marble Falls, but hadn't been playing in some time. Next time I see Lynn I will mention that you were asking.
Played a wedding for Lynn's daughter a couple of years back and he (Lynn) got up and played a few tunes on fiddle with us. |
