As a final post in this thread, I would like to show you all a couple of pictures of the man I built one of the guitars for.

Dave Seddon, known as SHAKEY on Youtube, is a well deserving recipient of this guitar. He is a self-taught player.

He worked his way up from studying piano from age 3, switching to lead guitar in his teens.

While playing a gig on a military base in Turkey many years ago, he saw a Fender 1000 pedal steel and things changed. He went home and built himself a steel guitar based on rough drawings of the Fender.

A tool maker of trade, Dave built 7 or 8 pedal steels but was never able to keep them; someone always came along and bought them from him.

I had always wanted a pro to 'test drive' one of my guitars. Dave was my choice for several reasons: I love his sound and style; he is a great person to know. Also, my wife has always wanted to take a vacation in England. What better opportunity was it for us to get the steel over there for free as a part of my luggage allowance, plus visit the city of Leicester, plus visit with a steel player and his lovely wife Chris for 3 days.

I will post the link to one of the songs again, in case some of you have not heard it yet.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xmvVMUj7dzc

While you're at it please click on "More from Shakey1047" to the right of the video screen and listen to all of Dave's videos. You will be treated to sounds from 2 other steels besides the BenRom: A D10 MCI and a S12 MSA

Note that all the backing tracks are done by Dave and band-in-a-box. The piano you hear is Dave's Yamaha keyboard.

Dave also made a CD in the 90's. Like all his tunes, this CD was made in its entirety by Dave alone.
It is a collection of several evergreens and some country tunes. The tracks are included on the CD. I don't think Dave will charge an arm and a leg. Send him an email if you are interested:
tigersteel@o2.co.uk
True to Dave's usual dry humor the CD is called: When All's Seddon Done.

Here's a couple of pics I took of the man and the guitar. I always like including a pic of the player's hands. They tell their own story...
