just how much is a ride on the space shuttle any ways ?

You can't buy tickets on the shuttle, but they are available on Soyuz for about $51 million.

Some billionaires have already done this for fun.

If you don't have a spare $51 million, consider Richard Branson's Virgin Galactic (Space Ship Two) where tickets are only about $200,000 but the ride is not nearly as cool so I think you get what you pay for.
