I have just purchased a Sho-Bud LDG SP http://bb.steelguitarforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=162715 and I want infomation about the Sho-Bud LDG steel guitar, pro and con. I appreciate your help! I know nothing about an LDG, but, I sure like the looks of it.

Thanks, Tommy

The Sho~Bud LDG is a great steel guitar. I've had three different ones over the years, and each one of them played and sounded great. They are a professional guitar, capable of giving you many years of enjoyment.

If you're familiar with Lloyd Green's work, then you probably already know that he did the majority of the hit sessions he's played on using an LDG. One thing that stands out to me among the thousands of things that Lloyd has played his LDG on is Farewell Party, by Gene Watson. Take a listen to that to see what an LDG is capable of in the right hands!

You got yourself a great guitar. I wish you many years of enjoyment with it!

Tommy,
Can you provide a working link? Perhaps using Tiny Url's site?

The "Search" function on the Forum seems kinda useless to me. And I tried Google also.

LDG's through the years changed--they are not created equal. The looks changed from the first year('73) roundfront to the later square front and the undercarrages evolved from barrels behind two-hole pullers, toward the superpro type undercarrage at the end of the run. The first LDG's were basicly an early roundfront Pro II (with barrels behind two-hole pullers) minus the C6th neck and a pad installed. And yes, they are Lloyd Green green and named after Lloyd, and loaded with charisma.
