Wow, what a great time I had this year and I've been there since '79
I was very proud to have 3 students on the Talent Search and one on the Main Show...plus...3 of my very first teachers were there too! So, Wow! 3 Generations...I'm 52 now and and realize that some of my teachers, and I've had more than a few, have been playing steel longer than I've been alive.
Where else could this happen! The I.S.G.C. is truly a steel guitar paradise.
The other highlights this year for me was Russ Wever in the Jazz Room and Doug Jernigan on the Main Stage on Sunday.
Glad I was there!

Sure Ben...anywhere, anytime! You were my very first!
You were the one who told me I bought the wrong thing as I had a single neck Sho~Bud 6139 with 3 pedals and one knee knee with a Jimmy Day Album of C6 instrumentals. But you did show me some Doug Jernigan rolls that I still use to this day!
My private teachers, mostly in chronological order:
Ben Lawson
Ed Ruder (Deceased)
Russ Wever
Cope McDanial
Jack Schrader
DeWitt Scott
Herby Wallace
Doug Jernigan

And of course, books, talk tapes, etc teachers:
Paul Franklin
Weldon Myrick
Jeff Newman
Jimmie Crawford
Terry Bethel
John Hughey

and the one and only:
Winnie Winston

I could not do without any of them!!!
Sincerely,
Thanks Ben
Your friend always,
Don E. Curtis
